Frequently asked questions

What Sahen is

Sahen is software that runs a meal-subscription kitchen. It replaces the WhatsApp groups and spreadsheets with one loop: you publish a menu, customers pick their meals, a cutoff freezes the orders, and the kitchen and drivers get their sheets. It includes a kitchen console, a customer app and a driver app.
Kitchens that sell meals by subscription: meal prep, diet and healthy meal delivery, and cloud kitchens with regular subscribers. It fits best when customers prepay for a number of meals and you deliver with your own drivers.
No. It is not a point-of-sale system for walk-in orders, and it is not a marketplace that lists many restaurants. Your customers subscribe to your kitchen only, in an app that carries your name, and you deliver with your own drivers.
Customers pick their own meals in your app instead of texting you, and their balance is tracked for you. At cutoff the orders lock and the production sheet and driver lists are built automatically. You stop copying messages into a spreadsheet every night.

Getting started

Yes. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and no card is needed to start it. You choose a plan when the trial ends and keep everything you set up.
The kitchen console can be live in about 30 minutes: we set up your menu, programs and pricing with you on a short call. Your branded customer app takes about a week, because it has to be published and approved on the App Store and Google Play.
Onboarding is by invitation for now. Book a demo or start a trial from this site, and we get back to you to set up your kitchen together.
We help you bring your menu, programs and current customers in during setup. Customers then download your app and sign in with their email (a one-time code) or Google. They can manage their address and pick meals from day one.

The daily loop and cutoff

You publish the menu for the coming days from the console. Subscribers then pick a meal for each eating day in their plan. Anyone who does not choose gets the default meal for that day.
The cutoff is the daily deadline for meal picks. When it passes, selections lock, defaults are applied for anyone who did not choose, one meal credit is debited per eating day, and the orders freeze. It runs automatically, and running it twice never charges or cooks twice.
A production sheet with the quantity of every meal and component to cook for that day. It is built from the frozen orders, so it does not change while the kitchen is cooking.
Each driver gets a manifest of their stops, grouped by delivery zone. Bags get 80mm receipts with a QR code; the driver scans the bag and marks it delivered.
No. After cutoff that day's orders are frozen so the kitchen and drivers work from a fixed list. Customers can still change picks for later days whose cutoff has not passed.

Subscriptions and meal credits

Customers buy prepaid packs of meal credits, and each eating day uses one credit. It is not a running bill of individual meals. The customer always sees how many meals are left.
Every credit added or used is written as its own line in an append-only ledger, and the balance is the sum of those lines. Nothing is overwritten, so you can always answer why a customer has the number of meals they have.
A skipped or paused day is not delivered, and no credit is used for it. The credit stays in the customer's balance for a later day.
They are not left without food. The cutoff applies the default meal for that day, and the credit is used as usual.
Yes. Customers manage their own saved addresses in the app, with a map pin so the driver finds them without a call. The change applies to deliveries whose cutoff has not passed yet.

Payments

Today kitchens take payment by CliQ, bank transfer or cash on delivery. For CliQ and transfers the customer enters the payment reference, and your team confirms it in the console before the credits are added.
No. Sahen is a flat subscription per kitchen, with no per-order commission no matter how many orders you run. Your customers pay you directly.
Not yet. There is no card payment gateway today, so no card is stored or charged in the app.

The three apps

Three: a kitchen console for you and your team, a customer app for your subscribers, and a driver app for your delivery team. Customers can also subscribe on a web page.
Yes, on plans that include the app. It shows your kitchen's name, colour and logo, on both iOS and Android. Your customers see your kitchen, not ours.
Drivers sign in, see their stops for the day by zone, and follow the manifest. They scan the bag QR code and mark each delivery done, and customers are notified when their order is on the way and delivered.
Each meal has its photo, components and macros (calories, protein, carbs, fat). The console checks that every eating day on the menu has meals assigned before you publish. A helper drafts the Arabic name and description for you to review.

Pricing

There are three plans: Starter, Pro and Growth. Each one is a flat monthly price, shown in your market's currency on the pricing page. There is no setup fee.
They differ in how many active subscriptions you can run and what is included. Starter covers up to 50 active subscriptions with the console and a web subscription page. Pro covers up to 200 and adds your branded app, and Growth covers up to 1,000 and adds an ad landing page.
Yes. A yearly plan costs ten times the monthly price, so you get two months free.
Larger kitchens move to Enterprise, which is priced by conversation rather than on the self-serve grid. Contact us and we will set it up with you.

Countries and languages

Sahen is available for kitchens in Jordan today. The site also lists markets in the GCC, the EU, the UK and the Philippines, each with its own currency and pricing. Pick your country at the bottom of this page to see prices for your market.
Arabic and English. The customer app and the web subscription page are fully right to left in Arabic, and each kitchen chooses which languages its customers see.
Your kitchen's own local currency. Prices, credit packs and receipts are shown in the currency of the country your kitchen is in.

Data and support

You do. Your menu, customers, orders and payment records belong to your kitchen, and you can ask us for an export at any time. Each kitchen's data is kept separate from every other kitchen's.
Yes. Your data lives in a managed database with regular backups, and the daily cutoff is built to be safely re-run if something fails. We do not publish formal uptime guarantees or certifications at this stage.
