Best meal subscription software for kitchens (2026)

Who this list is for

This page is for kitchens that sell recurring meal plans: meal prep businesses, diet and healthy meal delivery services, and cloud kitchens with a base of subscribers who eat from you several days a week. It is not for restaurants taking one-off orders or meal-kit brands shipping boxes nationally.

How we evaluated

We checked each tool against:

  • The daily loop: weekly menu with macros, subscriber picks, a fixed cutoff, a production sheet, and delivery.
  • Subscriptions and credits: plans, skips, pauses and prepaid balances.
  • Payments and fees: supported methods, and whether the vendor takes a cut of each order.
  • Branded apps: an iOS or Android app in the kitchen's own name.
  • Languages and markets: Arabic, right-to-left and local currencies.
  • Pricing model: flat, per order or by quote, and whether there is a free trial.

Disclosure: Sahen wrote this page, and Sahen is one of the tools on it. Every competitor fact comes from the competitor's own website or app store listing, checked on 2026-10-31 and listed under Sources. Where a vendor does not publish something, we say "not published". If we got something wrong, write to support@sahenos.com.

Sahen

Sahen is an operating system for meal-subscription kitchens. It runs one daily loop: you publish a weekly menu with macros and photos, subscribers pick their meals for each eating day in your own white-label iOS and Android app or web page, and one automatic daily cutoff freezes the orders. The kitchen then gets a production sheet with quantities per meal and per component, and drivers get an app with zones, manifests, 80mm bag receipts with QR codes, and customer push notifications at each delivery stage. You can read how cutoff works.

Prepaid meal-credit packs live in an append-only ledger, and skips, pauses, eating-pattern changes, programs and packages are built in. Payments are cash on delivery, bank transfer with a reference, and CliQ in Jordan. There is no card gateway and no per-order commission. Plans are flat monthly or yearly fees based on active subscriptions, with a 14-day trial and no card required; see pricing.

Where it does not fit: Sahen has no card payments yet, no marketplace that brings you customers, and no POS. Onboarding is by invitation, it is a young product, and it is built for Arabic-first markets: available in Jordan today, with GCC, EU, UK and Philippines markets listed. The operator console is in English; the customer app is English and Arabic with right-to-left layout.

KitchenFuel

KitchenFuel is an all-in-one meal prep platform: a back-end dashboard, a meal-prep sales website and marketing tools. It serves meal prep operators, caterers adding recurring orders, and restaurants or ghost kitchens starting a meal prep line. Its site lists a meal calendar for scheduling future weeks, subscription discounts, AI meal recommendations, cooking reports with macros and ingredients, package labels and distribution route planning.

Where it is stronger: a real sales website with SEO, a macro calculator, referrals, email marketing, CRM, gift cards and loyalty. It takes cards through Stripe, adds no transaction fees of its own, and offers a 14-day trial. It does not publish a driver app, branded apps, Arabic support or prices. Full comparison: Sahen vs KitchenFuel.

GoPrep

GoPrep calls itself an all-in-one meal prep and catering management platform for solo chefs, franchises and large producers. It supports weekly and monthly subscriptions, order cutoff periods, meal and ingredient production reports, packing slips, labels, nutrition facts and an optimized delivery route report.

Where it is stronger: mature card payments through Stripe, a deep marketing toolkit (SMS, gift cards, referrals, abandoned cart emails) and published pricing. Its Starter plan was listed from $95/month on their site on 2026-10-31, capped at 100 orders a month, plus an application fee of 1.5% (1.35% on Pro) that is passed to customers by default. It does not offer a free trial; you pay the first month to get full access. Full comparison: Sahen vs GoPrep.

Sprwt

Sprwt is a meal prep and catering platform that combines a recipe builder, order management, marketing tools, a POS and employee scheduling. It serves meal prep delivery businesses, caterers, restaurants and personal chefs. Its kitchen tools produce cooking reports, shopping lists that account for trim, packing organization and labels, and it links to a separate route optimization product.

Where it is stronger: breadth. If you also run a counter, need staff timesheets or do catering, Sprwt covers more. Prices are not published on its home page, which offers a demo, not a trial. Full comparison: Sahen vs Sprwt.

Shopify with Servd

Many kitchens start on Shopify and add a meal-subscription app. We looked at Servd, listed in the Shopify App Store. Its listing describes weekly, rotating or evergreen menus (with templates on paid plans), delivery days that each close at their own cutoff, meal demand reports, and packing slips and meal labels. It has a free Starter plan, and paid plans were listed from $29/month on their site on 2026-10-31, with a 7-day free trial.

Where it is stronger: Shopify's storefront, themes and app ecosystem, ideal for a brand that also sells retail products. The cost is assembly: the listing does not publish a driver app or branded mobile apps, so those come from elsewhere.

WhatsApp and spreadsheets

This is the real incumbent: picks in WhatsApp chats, a nightly tally in Excel, balances in a sheet and driver lists as messages. It is free and needs no training. It breaks as you grow, with missed late changes, balance disputes and hours of counting. See Sahen vs WhatsApp and Excel.

Which one should you pick

  • You need card payments today, or you sell mostly in North America: GoPrep or KitchenFuel. Both run on Stripe.
  • You also run a counter, catering and staff schedules: Sprwt covers more of that business.
  • Your brand lives on Shopify and sells more than meal plans: Shopify with Servd keeps everything in one store.
  • You run a subscription kitchen in an Arabic-speaking market, collect cash or bank transfers, and deliver with your own drivers: Sahen is built for exactly that loop. See pricing and the FAQ.
  • You have fewer than 30 subscribers and time to spare: WhatsApp and a spreadsheet may still be enough.
