Getting started with Sahen

Updated October 31, 2026

Sahen is an operating system for meal-subscription kitchens. It runs one loop: you publish a menu, customers pick their meals, the daily cutoff freezes the orders, and the kitchen and drivers work from the result. This guide covers the first hour, from the invitation email to a kitchen that is ready to take subscriptions.

Kitchens are invite-only

There is no self-serve sign-up for kitchens. The Sahen team creates your kitchen and sends the owner an invitation by email. Open the link in it, confirm your name, and your membership is created. Until you accept, the invitation is pending and the console will not let that email sign in.

After that, you sign in with a six-digit code sent to your email, or with Google. There is no password to remember. See Team and roles for how sign-in works for your staff.

The setup wizard

The first time the owner or an admin opens the console, kitchen setup opens over it. It has four steps. You can go back, skip a step, or close the wizard and resume later from the "Kitchen setup N/4" entry in the footer. Whatever you saved is kept.

1. Where you operate

Pick the country your kitchen cooks in. The country sets your currency, time zone, phone format, calendar and tax defaults, and the languages and measurement units your kitchen starts with. If a country has several time zones, you choose yours.

The country can be set once. After that it is read-only, and changing it goes through support. Your currency is also locked as soon as any subscription or payment exists, because Sahen never converts amounts between currencies.

2. Identity

Your kitchen name, a line about your food, a logo (PNG, JPEG or WebP) and a signature colour. These carry through to your storefront and the customer app, so customers see your brand.

3. Service rhythm

Choose the weekdays you deliver (at least one), how far ahead customers must choose (same day, the day before, or two days before) and the cutoff time in your kitchen's time zone. These settings drive every cutoff.

4. Team

Invite your first colleague by name, work email and role. You can skip this and do it later on Business → Team.

When you finish or skip the last step, you see "Your kitchen is ready".

Business settings to finish next

The wizard covers the essentials. The rest lives under Business in the sidebar:

  • Operations: service weekdays, the minimum number of days per week a customer must eat, cutoff time and days before service, price rounding, and the maximum days one delivery can cover.
  • Delivery zones (Business → Delivery → Zones): the areas you deliver to, which weekdays each zone is covered, and a preset delivery charge per drop.
  • Payments: how customers pay. There is no live card gateway: kitchens record cash on delivery and manual payments. In Jordan, kitchens can also accept CliQ with a payment reference, and the CliQ alias shown to customers is set here.
  • Catalog defaults: your meal types (a new kitchen starts with Lunch, Salad and Beverage) and the pack durations you sell (a new kitchen starts with 7, 10 and 20 days).

Build your catalogue

With settings in place, add what you sell:

  1. Meals, each made of components with quantities and a photo. See Meals and macros.
  2. Programs, the diets you offer, each with a price change in percent.
  3. Packages, the courses a customer gets per day and the price per day.
  4. A menu for your first service days. See Weekly menu.

A pack's length counts delivered days, not calendar days. Skips, pauses and kitchen closures push the end date out, and one credit is one day of service, whatever courses that day holds.

How fast you can be live

The kitchen console can be live in about 30 minutes: the Sahen team sets up your menu, programs and pricing with you on a short call. Your branded customer app takes about a week, because it has to be published and approved on the App Store and Google Play.

To keep that call short, have these ready:

  • your logo and brand colour;
  • your delivery days, the cutoff time you want and the areas you deliver to;
  • your meals with their components, and a photo of each;
  • your diets, your daily packages and their prices, and the pack lengths you sell.

Free trial

New kitchens get a 14-day free trial. Plans and prices are on the pricing page, and common questions are answered in the FAQ. For anything else, write to support@sahenos.com.
